The Countywide Planning Team works primarily with the citizens of unincorporated Hillsborough County. Our team develops and recommends updates to the Future of Hillsborough Comprehensive Plan for unincorporated Hillsborough County, the long range comprehensive plan that guides growth and development in the unincorporated County. Amendments to this plan are processed by the Countywide Team and carried through the entire public hearing process beginning with the Planning Commissioners and ending with the Board of County Commissioners.

The Team members are trained to answer questions from the public about the Comprehensive Plan and land use issues.   We also review development regulations and proposals including rezonings, specials uses, developments of regional impact and historic landmark designations, and makes recommendations to the Planning Commissioners and Board of County Commissioners about their consistency and relationship to the Comprehensive Plan. The Team members work together with staff from Hillsborough County in the development of community-based plans for neighborhoods and communities within the unincorporated area.
