From 2000 to 2006 a total of 178,112 people have moved to our region.
The fastest growing areas in Hillsborough County continue to be in the southern most regions of the county. This is an area that stretches along the west coast of the county, next to Tampa Bay towards the Polk County line. It generally includes the areas of Balm, Wimauma, Ruskin and Riverview. The Planning Commission maintains a spreadsheet tracking the top 30 subdivisions by number of units permitted.
